Gravimetric Blender

Gravimetric blenders are used in the plastics industry to accurately weigh two or more components and then mix them together before they are processed in an injection molding machine, extruder or blow molding machine. There are two types of gravimetric blenders: loss-in-weight blenders and gain-in-weight blenders.

a blender is used to puree or crush ice. Use a blender if your final product is something you can drink, such as a mocktail or protein shake, drizzle or dip. In addition to pureeing, a food processor can slice, grate, shred, dice and more.

One of the applications of gravimetric analysis is that it can provide extremely precise analyses. It has determined the atomic masses of many elements in the periodic table. Another benefit of gravimetric analysis is that it helps to limit the number of instrumental errors when measuring the mass of substances.

The blenders are used to mix solids in liquids. In the food-processing industry, they provide a perfect solution for reconstituting powdered milk, making syrups, preparing brines, etc. They can also be used for preparing solid-liquid mixtures in the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemical industrie 

What is the difference between batch and continuous mixing?

One batch is made and finished before the other is started. This means that each batch can produce different, and sometimes undesirable, results. In other words, there is no consistency. Continuous Mixing, in comparison, integrates all four operations into one continuous process.

Downtime between batches - Downtime is inherent in batch mixing because only one stage of the production process can take place at a time: Filling, mixing, discharging, cleaning. While one stage is in progress, all others must stop.

Continuous mixing provides high throughput and low energy use compared to batch mixing.

Vertical mixers are not suitable for mixing wet ingredients. Horizontal mixers are more suitable but, because of their complex construction, are often difficult to clean properly. There is also a trend for sticky materials to stick to the blades and to accumulate at one end of the mixer.
